Saturday’s final home game of the season against Blackburn Rovers saw Showsec Security generously donate their match sponsorship package in the lounge to the Rotherham and Bluebell Wood Hospices.

The security company, who deliver local, national and international crowd management and event security services, kindly donated two tables of eight to representatives from both organisations to attend in the plush surroundings of the AESSEAL New York Stadium lounge for the home finale against Paul Lambert’s Rovers.

Both organisations were taken into the dressing room to meet the Rotherham United first team ahead of the game before going pitchside for photographs where the pre-match tour concluded.

They then took up seats in the lounge where they enjoyed a meal before taking up seats in the hospitality area to watch Neil Warnock’s side take on Blackburn Rovers.

As part of the match sponsorship package it was left to both parties to decide which Millers player collected the Sponsors Man of the Match Award and they were then introduced to the victorious Lee Camp who presented them with a Rotherham United shirt signed by the first team.

The Rotherham Hospice contingent in the lounge included Children’s Bereavement Support Nurse, Cath Todd, who was there alongside youngsters Jack and Sam who both attend the Sunbeams group and she was keen to express her gratitude to Showsec for providing a fantastic day.

“Both lads had beaming smiles on their faces all day and I cannot thank Craig Bennett and everyone at Showsec enough for giving them a day they will never forget,” she enthused.

“They both came out with autograph books full of signatures and with countless selfies to show their friends and I think I speak on behalf of everyone associated with both Hospice, in saying that we are truly grateful that these children had this opportunity.”

Head of Commercial Mark Hitchens was also pleased to see members from both charities in the lounge and took time to recognise Showsec’s generosity.

“It was a great gesture to donate the tables and both the Rotherham and Bluebell Wood Hospices are worthy causes,” he explained.

"At Rotherham United we take great pride in the work we do with the local community and it is a pleasure to work alongside companies like Showsec who share those values.

“I sincerely hope everyone in attendance enjoyed their afternoon and it would be great to see them return to Rotherham United as supporters in the near future."
