Rotherham United defender Richard Wood recently helped local solicitors Oxley & Coward celebrate their 225th anniversary.
The company based on Moorgate celebrated another landmark year by helping Sheffield Children’s Hospital, with a special release of balloons designed to raise funds for the local charity.
Millers defender Richard was on hand to release the balloons which, if returned with a special tag, would see a donation made to the Hospital.
“We are 225 years old this year, which makes us the longest established solicitors in Rotherham, and as part of our anniversary year we are doing our bit to support local charities,” said Managing Partner Richard Sheppard.
“Sheffield Children’s Hospital is a charity that we have had a close association with over a long period of time, and we saw this as a nice opportunity to support them further.
“We launched the balloons and attached to each of them is a tag. If someone finds the tag and returns it, then we will donate £5 for each tag to Sheffield Children’s Hospital.”
Oxley & Coward have enjoyed a long association with the Millers, with their name and logo appearing on the perimeter boards surrounding the AESSEAL New York Stadium.
“We are very proud to support Rotherham United, and we are delighted that the team have again ensured their place in The Championship,” Richard added.
“It is great for the town to have the club playing in The Championship, and we would like to congratulate everyone for another terrific season.”
