Rotherham United’s Academy will end the season with a host of friendly matches at AESSEAL New York Stadium.

The Academy will give their next generation the chance to sample the surroundings of the Millers’ home, with the under 18s in action this evening against Bolton Wanderers.

Earlier in the week the younger age groups also had the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of their heroes, as the Academy took advantage of the time available before the ground staff prepare the pitch for next season.

“Tonight we have a game for the under 18s against Bolton at the stadium, which will be a good occasion for the lads,” Development Phase Lead Coach Ciarán Toner told www.themillers.co.uk

“We will have under 16s involved too, so it will be nice for the them to get a taste of a first team environment. I am sure that there will be family and friends that come along so there will be some positive pressure for them to go out and perform.”

The stadium also opened up the doors to the foundation levels of the Millers’ Academy, who revelled in the AESSEAL New York experience.

“The foundation phase had games on Tuesday. That saw the under 8s, 9s, 10s and 11s all play against different opposition,” Ciarán added.

“Not only is it good for our boys to get some competition on the pitch but also for local clubs to come in and enjoy the experience.

“It seemed to be a really good evening and everyone enjoyed themselves including the supporters who came along, and it went really well.”
