Young supporters attending England Women’s game against Belgium next month at the AESSEAL New York Stadium will get the chance to attend the FA Junior Fanzone before the game.

The Fanzones, which are run in association with Continental Tyres, are aimed at children aged 5-16 and provide an interactive football experience ahead of games.

Along with free face painting and hair braiding, there will be an interactive trailer that houses trophies and digital stations to teach girls and boys about aspects of game.

Supporters can test their skills and reflexes at the Fanzone’s speed cage, target shoot, quick feet and batak boards.  The Fanzones aim to encourage more children to play football.

England face Belgium as part of their UEFA Women’s Euros 2017 qualifying campaign on Friday 4 April (7.55pm KO).  It is the Lionesses’ first home match of 2016 and they will be looking to continue their 100 per cent record in their qualifying campaign.

The Fanzone will be open from 5.55pm until kick off and will be located outside the AESSEAL New York Stadium, by the KCM Recycling North Stand.

Tickets for the game are on sale now priced £5 for adults and £2.50 for children.  A family ticket priced £10 (two adults and two children) is also available and group booking discounts apply.

Tickets can be bought via www.TheFA.com/Tickets, by calling 08444 140 754 or in person at the Rotherham United ticket office.

Caroline Hulme, FA women’s football national project manager, said: “Since we launched the Fanzones in 2010, they have proved very popular with fans and a great way to encourage more children, especially girls, to play football.

“We’ve worked hard with Continental Tyres to ensure that there’s a good mix of football and lifestyle activities to attract supporters to the Fanzones before KO, and encourage both regular players and newcomers to try out football and hopefully start playing more regularly.

“The Fanzones also really help to build the excitement ahead of our big women’s matches and we’re looking forward to another successful year in 2016.”

Felix Ziegler, sponsorship manager at Continental Tyres, said: “We are delighted to be supporting what will be a wonderful sporting occasion for all the family and a showcase for women’s football at the highest level.

“Before the match, our interactive fanzone will give fans the opportunity to take part in a range of football activities as well as provide coaches with the chance to enhance their knowledge through The ContiWarmUp Programme.”
