The Millers take on the League Two side...

Rotherham United will face Football League newcomers Grimsby Town in a pre-season friendly.

The match at Blundell Park will take place on Wednesday 20th July, kick off 7.30pm.

It will be just over five years since the Millers last played at Blundell Park after a 3-1 victory in a pre-season friendly in 2011.

The Mariners, who are managed by Millers legend Paul Hurst, returned to the Football League after beating Forest Green Rovers in the National League Play-off Final at Wembley last month.

The Mariners also include former Rotherham ‘keeper Andy Warrington on their coaching staff.

The last time the Millers played in a competitive fixture at Blundell Park was August 2009 when goals from Adam Le Fondre and Micky Cummins secured a 2-1 victory.

The Millers have now confirmed three pre-season dates. The current full list is as follows:

Saturday 9th July Parkgate (A) 12pm
Wednesday 20th July Grimsby (A) 7.30pm
Saturday 23rd July Sunderland (H)         3pm
