Rotherham United have completed the signing of Anthony Forde...

Rotherham United have agreed a deal with Walsall midfielder Anthony Forde, with the transfer for an undisclosed fee to go through on July 1st.

The 22-year-old has successfully completed a medical after agreeing terms with the Millers, and has joined up with his new team mates for the first day of pre-season training this morning.

Forde becomes new manager Alan Stubbs' first signing as Millers boss, agreeing a three-year deal at AESSEAL New York Stadium.

Forde enjoyed a productive spell with Walsall playing a major role in their run to the Play-off semi-finals last season.

After starting his career with Wolves, where he made appearances in the Premier League, he moved to Walsall in 2014 for an undisclosed fee.

In his first season he made 46 appearances in all competitions for the Saddlers, laying the foundations for a tilt at promotion last season.

Forde was one of the leading lights as Walsall spent the majority of the season in the tops six, playing 51 times in all competitions.

He is also a former Republic of Ireland under 21 international.
