Rotherham United would like to clarify recent stories which have appeared in the media.
The club would like to place on record that striker Matt Derbyshire left the club following the end of his contract. The player did not as reported reject a new contract.
Rotherham United acknowledged the effort and professionalism from Matt during his time with the Millers, but the club took the decision not to give him a new contract.
This decision was accepted by the player who subsequently signed for AC Omonia Nicosia.
