Children at Redscope Primary School were this week rewarded for a fantastic fundraising effort they undertook in Partnership with Rotherham United Community Sports Trust where the school raised a fantastic amount of £4837.20.

Redscope were one of a number of schools who took part in Rotherham United Community Sports Trust schools development programme which sees the school receive 6 weeks of in school sports coaching from the RUCST qualified coaches. This work is provided free of charge so to help fund the programme a sponsored penalty shoot-out is conducted to help get every child involved.

James Rawlinson Sport Developement Manager said ‘This school year we have had many schools take part in this fantastic programme but when we attended the assembly at Redscope to give out the prizes to the children and we were told the final amount raised we as a Trust just knew we had to reward the school in some way, and a framed signed shirt was something we felt they could display with pride”.

Paula Dobbin, Head teacher at Redscope primary said, “"The children really enjoyed taking part in the penalty shoot-out and were thrilled to hear that they had raised so much money.  It was a fantastic achievement, of which we are all really proud."
