Alan Stubbs talks to www.themillers.co.uk...

Rotherham United manager Alan Stubbs has presided over the first training session of the tour of Poland, ahead of tomorrow’s friendly with Meidz Legnica.

The Millers flew into their base for the week at Opelenica, and trained this afternoon in muggy conditions ahead of the first of two friendlies, both to be played at the grounds of the Hotel Remes where the Millers are staying.

Ahead of the game tomorrow, Stubbs reported the squad are in good spirits after day one of the tour following the conclusion of today’s session.

“The first impression of the facilities and the hotel is very good,” Stubbs told www.themillers.co.uk

“We got here later than what we expected with a delay in the flight, so it was straight to bed last night, and we then gave them a little bit longer in their beds this morning to try and sleep it off.

“We have now had our first training session; it is quite warm so it has been really important to get plenty of fluid into the players.

“The delay means we probably will have to miss one session, in terms of football we won’t miss anything but we’ll probably have to miss a gym session.”

The Millers are out in Poland for a full week before pre-season friendlies back home against the likes of Sunderland and Scunthorpe United.
