Alan Stubbs talks to www.themillers.co.uk ahead of the trip to Poland...

Rotherham United manager Alan Stubbs is expecting to hear shortly as to whether there will be an extra player joining his group for the pre-season tour of Poland.

The Millers boss is close to finalising his touring party for the trip where the Millers will face Gornik Zabrze and Miedz Legnica at their training base at Opalenica.

Stubbs confirmed that he is looking into the possibility of adding one more name to the group, as he waits to hear of the news about his latest foray into the transfer market.

“We are more or less sorted for Poland,” he told www.themillers.co.uk

“There is room for maybe one more to come and join us at the last minute, but aside from that there won’t be much change. Potentially that might be for a new signing. We are waiting to hear back on that, and if that happens before we go out to Poland then great, if not, then we’ll have to wait to hear about how things are progressing from over there.”

Stubbs has presided over nearly two weeks of pre-season training, with the Millers set for their first friendly against Parkgate at Roundwood this Saturday (12pm).

The club set off for Poland this Sunday with new signing Anthony Forde joining the rest of the squad which Stubbs says will include some trialists:

“It will be a mixture of first team lads, a couple of young development players and we have four players here on trial trying to earn a contract,” he confirmed.

“We have those lads in total for six days in terms of actual training. They are doing well and we are going to have a real close look at them in the games over in Poland.”
