Chairman Tony Stewart calls upon Millers' support to 'raise the roof' against Charlton...Rotherham United Chairman Tony Stewart has called on supporters to ‘raise the roof’ at AESSEAL New York Stadium for this Saturday’s crucial fixture with Charlton Athletic.
The Millers hosts the Addicks knowing a victory would put further distance between themselves and the Championship’s bottom three.
After picking up a vital point on the road at Cardiff last Saturday, the Chairman is calling on the partisan home support to once again get behind the team for the visit of Jose Riga’s Charlton.
“Every game from now until the end of the season is crucial but there is extra significance behind the game with Charlton,” Mr. Stewart told www.themillers.co.uk
“You only have to glance at the table to know how important this fixture is for both sides, but we have the advantage of being backed by our fantastic home support".
“We need you to raise the roof this Saturday and create another of those electric atmospheres that this great stadium is becoming synonymous with.
“I am excited about the weekend, and the rest of the season. The progression is there for all to see but we need all hands on deck to keep improving and climbing the table."
“From the supporters, staff, players and directors we are all United.
“Let us show our unity to the cause by coming together for 3pm on Saturday. If you know someone that wasn't planning to come try and persuade them otherwise, every one of our remaining games is vital, particularly our home fixtures.”
The Millers currently occupy 21st position in the table, four points ahead of Charlton ahead of the weekend fixture.
The two sides played out a 1-1 draw at The Valley earlier in the season.
Tickets remain on sale now for the home fixture with Charlton, whilst the Red and White Shop are continuing with the New Year sale of 30% off all replica kit.
