Work on deadline day movement ongoing, says Redfearn

Millers boss says work on ins and outs is ongoing...

Neil Redfearn says that more players could follow Chris Maguire out of the exit door at AESSEAL New York Stadium and is a process that is still ‘ongoing’ on transfer deadline day.

The transfer window slams shut at 11pm this evening with the Millers boss this not ruling out another signing before tonight’s deadline.

The Millers boss also confirmed that there is potential for one or two more members of his squad to leave the club following Maguire’s departure this morning, as he continues to finalise his squad for the crucial Sky Bet Championship run-in.

“In terms of players potentially going out, that is still something that is also ongoing,” Redfearn confirmed to

“We are continually trying to develop and grow as a team so naturally that means some players will move out. That process continues and we will wait and see.”

The Millers have been busy in the market in the New Year and Redfearn has moved swiftly to bolster his ranks at the beginning of this month with Chris Burke, Andrew Shinnie and Chris Dawson signing terms in 2016.

Whilst Redfearn confirmed this morning that he is happy with his squad, he refused to rule out any more movement before tonight’s deadline.

The Millers boss confirmed that a central midfielder remains at the top of his list with under eight hours to go before the window closes for business.

“We are monitoring the situation; if something outstanding comes up that we cannot miss then we will of course have to have a look at it,” he added.

“My phone is always on; I’ll be keeping it with me right until 11pm so we will wait and see what happens."
