Neil Warnock talks to www.themillers.co.uk...
Rotherham United manager Neil Warnock says new signing Jerome Thomas has the potential to be a ‘match winner’ for the Millers.
Thomas put pen-to-paper on a deal until the end of the season to become Warnock’s first signing since taking the Millers’ hot-seat.
The former Arsenal and West Brom winger has been training with the Millers in recent weeks, and Warnock was delighted to add him to the ranks as he looks to spearhead the Millers’ bid for Championship survival.
“He has been with us on trial over the last couple of weeks and impressed in the reserve outing against Notts County and I am delighted that we have been able to get him on a deal until the end of the season,” Warnock told www.themillers.co.uk
“Jerome is a player I know well having worked with him before at Crystal Palace and he has the potential to be a match winner.
“He has an abundance of experience at both this level and the top flight and knows the demands of the Championship.
“Jerome is an athletic player and a great professional and has kept himself in good condition.
“We will try and get some minutes into him as quickly as possible to get give him that bit of match sharpness.”
Thomas was again in reserve team action yesterday, playing in the 1-1 draw with Scunthorpe United.
After starting his career with Arsenal he has enjoyed spells with the likes of Charlton, Portsmouth, West Brom and Leeds United.
The 32-year-old has been looking for a new club after ending a two-year spell with Premier League Crystal Palace.
