Rotherham United’s Academy were denied another three points after a last minute leveller in a 1-1 draw at Oldham in the Youth Alliance League.

The Academy found some form during the back end of 2015 with four wins from five league fixtures before the trip to Oldham.

It was almost five from six for Garreth Barker’s side after Darnelle Bailey-King continued his goalscoring run with his eighth goal of the campaign.

The home side dug out a point two minutes into injury time, but despite the late goal Lead Youth Development Phase Coach Ciaran Toner was pleased with the display.

“It was a frustrating end to the game but in terms of the overall performance I thought that the lads were excellent,” he told www.themillers.co.uk

“There were so many plusses to take out of the match. I thought that we did enough to win the game but we didn’t get beat, and we believe that this group are capable of going on an unbeaten run.

“We are now looking ahead to the next game and looking to build on what has been a solid month since Christmas.”
