We are aware of a number of incidents that a minority of our supporters were involved in at Burton on Saturday which are currently under investigation. We are particularly concerned about the use of pyrotechnics that were thrown onto the pitch thus endangering players, staff and fellow supporters. Flares are incredibly dangerous and burn at 2000 degrees Celsius and are not designed for use within sports stadiums.

We are working closely with Burton Albion FC and the Police to identify these individuals and action will be taken. Where there is a possibility criminal behaviour may have been committed, we will support the Police wherever possible in prosecuting any of these individuals.

The vast majority of our supporters were well behaved (as usual) and we must not lose sight of the fact that this group who acted in an anti-social way is a very small minority. We would like to urge any of supporters who may be able to assist us further with our investigation to come forward.

All information will be handled sensitively and confidentially.
