The Millers make signing number five...

Rotherham United have completed the signing of experienced defender Kelvin Wilson, subject to EFL and FA ratification.

The 30-year-old former Nottingham Forest defender has signed a one-year contract with the club after successfully undergoing a medical this morning.

Wilson becomes Alan Stubbs’ fifth summer signing, and he will join up with the Millers squad tomorrow morning ahead of the big kick off against Wolverhampton Wanderers this Saturday.

The Nottingham-born central defender boasts a wealth of experience in the Championship following two successful stints with Forest.

He started his career with neighbours Notts County which earned him his first break in English football’s second tier at Preston North End.

He joined Forest, then in League One, for £300,000 helping them to promotion to The Championship in 2008.

After representing Forest successfully in the second tier, his next move was north of the border to Celtic in 2011.

After two years at Parkhead he was back at the City Ground after Forest paid a reported £2.5 million fee for his signature in 2013.

Last season he played 14 times in all competitions before moving to AESSEAL New York Stadium.
