Alan Stubbs talks to www.themillers.co.uk...

Rotherham United boss Alan Stubbs has ruled captain Lee Frecklington out of his side’s clash with Aston Villa in the Midlands on Saturday.

The Millers boss says his skipper is likely to be sidelined for at least a fortnight after sustaining an injury in the season opener against Wolves on Saturday but admits the it isn’t as damaging as first feared.

“It’s not as bad as we potentially thought it could have been but it’s still going to be 14 to 21 days maybe maximum with Frecks,” Stubbs told www.themillers.co.uk.

However, the news on defensive duo Kirk Broadfoot and Joe Mattock injuries is positive and Stubbs is confident that they will be fit for the trip to Villa Park.

“Broady we are very hopeful that he’ll be okay for the game and it’s the same with Joe [Mattock] but Frecks is probably struggling to make the game as we speak.

Otherwise, the Millers manager explained that his side are injury free aside from the knocks that could be expected from a game and is not concerned by any other potential absentees ahead of the clash with the Villans.

“There are the usual bumps and bruises from games but in terms of injuries we’ve come through the games in reasonably good shape so I don’t envisage any more problems going into the weekend."
