Scott Allan talks to www.themillers.co.uk...

Rotherham United loanee Scott Allan says boss Alan Stubbs played a big part in his decision to switch Glasgow for AESSEAL New York Stadium this season.

The 24-year-old midfielder joins the Millers as the club’s seventh summer signing and is looking forward to being reunited with the former Hibernian boss on English soil.

“It was massive for me and he gave me a platform to go and play and express myself at Hibs and hopefully I can do that here too,” Allan told www.themillers.co.uk.

“I heard about it for the first time yesterday and I spoke to the manager and got it done really quickly and I’m looking forward to getting started.

“I’ve been down here before but I went back up the road to get back playing and I earned myself a move to Celtic.

“I’ve not played as much as I’ve wanted to so it’s a great opportunity for me to get back playing.”

Allen, who is capped at Under 21 level with Scotland, has been heavily involved in the pre-season preparations at Celtic Park, which have included a friendly against Barcelona and insists he is ready for the season’s kick off against Wolves on Saturday.

“I’ve taken part in about six or seven friendly games so fitness isn’t a problem and I’ve had a full pre-season and I’m raring to go,” he continued.

“If we can get some good results early doors it will give us confidence for the rest of the season and obviously with the new manager coming in and bringing in players its all about progress."
