Rotherham United are set to welcome back a host of former heroes to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Millers' Auto Windscreens Shield triumph at Wembley.

The Millers beat Shrewsbury Town 2-1 to lift the trophy at the old stadium, and to celebrate the club are delighted to confirm several members of that side will be introduced to the supporters at 2:45pm ahead of Saturday’s game against Nottingham Forest.

Guests include the former captain Matt Clarke and two goal hero Nigel Jemson, alongside other former heroes including Darren Garner, Andy Roscoe, Paul Blades, Trevor Berry and Neil Richardson.

All will be John Breckin’s guests in the AESSEAL New York Stadium lounge, and he admits he is looking forward to the reunion.

“It has been great calling up so many former players and catching up with them,” Breck told www.themillers.co.uk

“We have had a great response, whilst the lads such as Shaun Goater and Paul Hurst have sent their best wishes because they are unable to make it.

“I am sure there will be some great stories to be told, so I can’t wait to see them all in the same room again to celebrate a fantastic day in the club’s history.”

There will be a special feature the matchday programme written by Les Payne covering the road to Wembley and the final itself, with contributions from all of the participants.

The players will be paraded before the fans around 2.45pm so make sure you are in the ground early to see your former heroes.
