Millers raise £1837.08 for Prostate Cancer UK

Rotherham United would like to thank it’s supporters for their generous donations prior to the game against Leeds United at AESSEAL New York Stadium last weekend which saw us raise £1837.08 for Prostate Cancer UK in just two hours.

The all-Yorkshire affair against Leeds was the club’s dedicated Prostate Cancer UK fixture with volunteers taking up position for bucket collections around the grounds at the Millers’ home last Saturday.

Members of the Millers’ coaching staff donned badges in support of the cause which aims to battle Prostate Cancer, as Neil Warnock and his side earned maximum points and the bragging rights over their West Yorkshire counterparts with a 2-1 win.

The amount raised has mirrored donations from previous years in which the Millers have appeared at the top end of the fundraising charts for teams in the Football League and the club would like to extend it’s gratitude to the supporters for their kindness again this season.

We would also like to place on record our thanks to Bridie Heath and her team of volunteers who work incredibly hard to raise funds for Prostate Cancer UK and give up their own time to facilitate fundraising for this cause here at Rotherham United.

The bucket collections at AESSEAL New York Stadium followed the success of Soccer Saturday star Jeff Stelling’s charity walk which began its South Yorkshire and Derbyshire leg here in Rotherham.

Jeff has already surpassed his staggering target of £300,000 but you can still donate to his cause here. http://campaign.justgiving.com/charity/prostatecancer/menunitedmarch
