The defender moves out on loan...

Richard Wood has joined Sky Bet League One side Fleetwood Town on a one month emergency loan.

The experienced defender hasn’t featured for the Millers this season and joins the Cod Army for some valuable competitive action.

Wood had a loan spell at League One level with Crawley Town last season, where he made 10 appearances before being recalled by the Millers.

Rotherham United boss Steve Evans was delighted that the defender had opted to go out and get some football and believes a stint with Graham Alexander's men is the perfect opportunity for him to do so.

"I am delighted that Richard has taken the opportunity to get some first team football.

"He is a top class professional and needs to be playing and he gets a great opportunity to do that with Andy Pilley's Fleetwood Town."

Fleetwood are currently 15th in League One and are at home to Port Vale this Saturday.
