The August nominations for the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month Award are:

Ryan Fraser (Ipswich Town) - winger

Has made an instant impact at Portman Road, thrilling the Ipswich fans with his natural desire to use his pace and take on defenders. Scored twice, including a wonderfully curled winner at Preston North End, and set up three other goals.

Stephen Gleeson (Birmingham City) - midfielder
After a difficult beginning to his Birmingham career, he is back to his best, orchestrating play from central midfield with his wide range of passing and striding forward to score technically beautiful goals against Derby County and MK Dons.

Michael Keane (Burnley) – central defender
The ball-playing young defender came of age in August. Thrust into a regular starting role, his reading of the game has impressed in a solid back line, while his three headed goals accounted for half his team’s tally in the month.

Kazenga Lua Lua (Brighton & Hove Albion) - winger
Often seen as an impact player, the mercurial winger emerged from the summer break fit and hungry, demanding the ball and tormenting defenders at will. His three goals in August, included the winners against Nottingham Forest and Blackburn Rovers.

The judging panel comprises Sky Sports’ Football League expert Don Goodman; Football League Head of Communications John Nagle; League Managers’ Association Director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet Football Trading Manager Paul Lowery.
