Young Millers fall to defeat...
An extremely youthful Rotherham United side were beaten 7-0 by Notts County in the Final Third Development League at Eagle Valley Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.A side comprising of Under 18’s and schoolboys travelled to Arnold Town’s Eagle Valley Stadium to face a Magpies team who had former Millers Scott Loach and Rob Milsom amongst their ranks.
A spirited performance from the young Millers’ representation pleased Academy Manager Garreth Barker who took time to applaud their efforts against a Notts County side that boasted Football League experience.
“The lads have done really well despite what the scoreline suggests,” he told www.themillers.co.uk
“We had three schoolboys start today against a team that was made up of players that have been in and around the Notts County first team and the boys acquitted themselves really well.
“Playing in the reserve league will be a learning process for these lads but that is what it’s about.”
