Millers fall to defeat against Mariners...

A youthful Rotherham United reserve slipped to a 3-0 defeat against Grimsby Town at Blundell Park.

With the Final Third Development League games now primarily designated to young professionals and Academy scholars, Academy manager Garreth Barker oversaw proceedings on the east coast.

A brace from Jack Mackreth and an own goal ensured the Mariners recorded all three points on home soil.

Grimsby scored either side of the break before sealing the victory in the final 10 minutes.

Grimsby Town: Warrington, East, Sunter, Doig, Crowther, Mackreth, Brown, Venney, Marshall, Jennings, Pittman.

Millers: Bilboe, Bailey, Peace-McDonald, Saxton, Rose, Redmayne, Dickinson, Warren, Smalley, Wiles, Yates.
