Millers' Chairman Tony Stewart talks to www.themillers.co.uk...
Rotherham United Chairman Tony Stewart confirmed that he is set to start the process of meeting prospective new candidates for the vacant management position next week.Mr Stewart told www.themillers.co.uk that he has been impressed by the early applicants and will be looking to hold talks with a number of them as early as Tuesday next week.
“This morning I was told there are over 50 applicants and they’re coming from home and abroad,” he explained.
“They’re young, old and experienced and what I can say is that the quality is really good.
“It’s outstanding. There are big names and we’ve got a task to pick a shortlist of people we will interview starting next week.”
However, the Millers’ Chairman insists that the search is still ongoing as interest gathers in the vacant post ahead of tomorrow’s televised clash with Burnley at AESSEAL New York Stadium.
“They’re [applications] still coming in,” he added,
“We’ve looked at one or two that seem to have caught our eye. We are looking at gaps now in the diary for next week and I have no doubt that we will be hoping from Tuesday onwards to sit down and talk to these people that have put their names forward.”
The full interview is now available on Millers Player HD.
