Academy record win over Iron...

Rotherham United’s Academy returned to winning ways after a 3-0 victory over Scunthorpe United in the Youth Alliance League.

The Millers bounced back from defeat against Notts County with a convincing victory and a clean sheet with goals from Brandon Potts, Bradley Peace-McDonald and Darnelle Bailey-King.

“It was an opportunity for the boys to put right what wasn’t a good performance in the week in the Final Third Development League, and they grasped it,” Academy Manager Garreth Barker told www.themillers.co.uk

“The focus during the week was being positive and going back-to-basics. We decided to change the shape, and it worked very well. We put the emphasis on trying to get a clean sheet, and the boys put in a solid performance and we got a great result.

“We were organised with plenty of energy and we scored three goals. Laurence Bilboe made a couple of great saves which kept us in front, and Fabian Bailey was excellent at full-back which resulted in training with the first team, and so has Darnelle Bailey-King.”

Millers: Bilboe, Bailey (Saxton 88), Abraham (Smalley 65), Dickinson, Peace-McDonald, Rose, Bailey-King (Martin 70), Potts, Johnson, Wiles, Redmayne.

Unused: Fidler, Hinds.
