Arsenal Ladies were victorious at AESSEAL New York Stadium today after a 3-0 success over Notts County Ladies in the final of the FA WSL Continental Tyres Cup.
A brace from Jordan Nobbs, and an injury time goal from Chioma Ubogagu, ensured the Gunners put defeat in the final last season firmly behind them in front of over 5,000 at the home of the Millers.
Arsenal took the lead when Nobbs raced down the right before cutting in field to fire beyond Carly Telford after 27 minutes.
County then had Laura Bassett sent off following a challenge on Arsenal's Vicky Losada.
The Gunners used their numerical advantage to good effect and added a second on 41 minutes when Nobbs fired into the top corner from 20 yards.
County, who arguably had the better of the chances with Bassett and Jess Clarke going close, rattled the bar in first half stoppage time after a Rachel Williams header from a free-kick.
Arsenal closed out the game in injury time when substitute Ubogagu added gloss to the scoreline with almost the last kick.
