Rotherham United’s AESSEAL New York Stadium has been ranked second in the Sky Bet Championship football ground league table on fan site ToThe92.co.uk’s.The Millers’ home finished as runners-up only to Derby County and their iPro Stadium in the survey produced by ToThe92.co.uk in collaboration with BuildingMaterials.co.uk.
AESSEAL New York Stadium fended off the challenge of Brighton and Hove Albion’s American Express Stadium to secure second spot with the DW Stadium propping up the second tier’s table in last position.
The Millers’ town centre home was credited for being “the best of all the new builds at this level” as well as receiving special recognition for the leg room in the stands and the matchday atmosphere.
The unique features of the stadium also came in for praise with tribute paid to the disabled facilities and location of the ground:
“Having a sloping roof at either end really helps to add a bit of character as well whilst the stadium is enclosed on all corners. As a result the atmosphere on a match day can be superb as sound travels around the ground. The disabled facilities are excellent as well with their own entrance so as not to get crowded."
