During the spring bank half term Rotherham United Community Sports Trust will be running a taster session for children aged 3-5 which will run alongside the already popular Millers Masterclass sessions at Wickersley School and Sports College.
These new ‘Active Tots’ sessions will form part of our newly formed Future Stars Programme which already includes a successful Saturday Morning Club at Clifton Community School.
The sessions will take place indoors and will include a number of fun games and activities which will help children learn and develop their movement skills whilst encouraging interaction with other children.
Parents will be encouraged to join in and will have the chance to interact with their children and also learn new games to play with their children at home.
Initially we will run a one day pilot on Thursday 28th May with 2 sessions taking place during the day, one will run at 10.30 – 12.00 then a further session at 1.15 – 2.45, we hope this will give as many people as possible the chance to access these sessions.
The sessions will be charged at an introductory rate of £5 per session.
The Trusts Sport Development Officer James Rawlinson quoted “we are currently developing our Future Stars Programme to include sessions covering all different aspects of not just football but other sports too, these new Active Tots sessions will enable us to work with children from 3 years old, something we have not done until recently. We hope to make a success of these sessions and roll them out over a number of days during the six week summer break.”
