A youthful Rotherham United reserve team battled their way to a 1-1 draw against Hartlepool Town in treacherous conditions at Billingham Town.
The Millers took on a strong Pools side on an afternoon where hailstone saw the referee temporarily halt play near the end, before both sides took a share of the spoils in the Final Third Development League fixture on Tuesday afternoon.
Experienced frontman Marlon Harewood fired the hosts in front after a spell of early Pools pressure.
Jerry Yates got the Millers’ equaliser when he span and lashed a powerful effort into the bottom corner from the edge of the area to restore parity.
The conditions worsened as the game went on and there was a break in play as the hail stone became heavy towards the final whistle, but both teams continued to play out a draw in the North East.
