Millers boss Steve Evans has no fresh injury concerns as his side prepare for Tuesday night’s clash with Cardiff City at AESSEAL New York Stadium in the Sky Bet Championship.

Lee Frecklington returned to the matchday squad at the weekend for the first time since a hernia operation, with skipper Craig Morgan the only player populating the injury list after he picked up a knee injury in training on Friday.

Evans fielded the 29-year-old midfielder as a stoppage time substitute and said he was delighted to see him return to the first team fold at the weekend, having witnessed his determination to return to fitness on the training ground in recent weeks:

“It was a big opportunity to put Frecks back on the bench and really that minute and a half of the added four that I put him on for was to show him the faith and the confidence that we’ve got in a young man that we all really respect.,” he told www.themillers.co.uk.

“It was also to show his hard work on the training ground to come back from the little set back he had a couple of weeks ago.”

The Millers chief is under no illusion that the creative midfielder will need to continue to work hard to ensure he is starting games:

“We need to get Frecks into a full week of training and a reserve game if we can and who knows, he may play a bigger part tomorrow.

“He’s ahead of schedule and he obviously had the set back from a bit of scar tissue and it’s one of those that the Head of Medical tells you to expect, rather than it happens and it did happen with him and it happened with Conor Newton earlier in the season and it’s just something that comes with that sort of operation.”
