Chairman Tony Stewart talks to www.themillers.co.uk...

Rotherham United Chairman Tony Stewart has issued a rallying cry to the Millers supporters to pack out AESSEAL New York Stadium and create a carnival atmosphere this Saturday.

The Millers entertain Wigan Athletic as both sides continue their mission to secure a position in the second tier next season and there are still tickets left for the crucial Sky Bet Championship clash.

The hospitality areas of the stadium have now sold out, but there are still regular tickets available as the Sky Bet Championship season nears its finale.

The Millers have performed well on the big occasions in the past at AESSEAL New York Stadium, recording wins over Preston North End, Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday in front of bumper crowds and the club’s Chairman is confident the Millers can emulate that success at the weekend.

“I have said it on many an occasion, that when AESSEAL New York Stadium is full the atmosphere is electric and we really do create a 12th man with the backing from the stands,” he enthused.

“The fans have been excellent all season and I am hoping they can be the difference in these last few games as we look to secure a place in this division next year.

“I was delighted by the following we took to Huddersfield Town last weekend and firmly believe that backing from the stands helped the lads to a splendid victory.”

Despite keeping their heads above water for the majority of the season and boasting a nine point advantage over Saturday’s opponents, the Millers Chairman insists there is still work to be done.

“It was a great result at Huddersfield last weekend but there are still many points to play for as we enter the final stretch,” he added. “Get yourselves down to support the lads on Saturday because with your support I’m sure we can take a huge step in securing a place in the Sky Bet Championship next season.”
