Rotherham United are driving forward with the second of their Car Boot sales, sponsored by CRB Garage Doors, which takes place at AESSEAL New York Stadium this Sunday.


The Millers have geared up with local business CRB Garage Doors to secure a series of events taking place up until 6th September and Managing Director Chris Barnes is excited to help fuel their success.

“I’m very pleased to be presented with another opportunity to work with local businesses and Rotherham United,” he beamed.

Traders and customers alike braved the weather conditions last week to join the sales in the town centre and with temperatures set to warm up this weekend Chris expects an influx of business:

“I’ll be down to see what’s on offer. I came down to the first one and there was a wide variety of items on sale.

“I expect as we get further into summer we’ll see more and more people coming down but even when the sun isn’t shining it’s a tarmac surface so there’s no mud and sludge like at other venues.”

Pitches are priced at £10 per car and £12 for vans and trailers which will secure the seller a place on the car park at AESSEAL New York Stadium. Traders can begin setting up their stalls at 5:45am with access to the public following 30 minutes later.

Admission to pedestrians is free with buyer’s car parking priced at £2 and food and drinks services are available on site.

Head of Commercial Mark Hitchens is confident that the weather won’t hinder what he believes will become a well-recognised event in the local community.

“Last weekend the weather wasn’t the best but I’m hoping that doesn’t dampen people’s spirits.

“The demand amongst the people of Rotherham is certainly there and I’m sure that the Car Boots held at AESSEAL New York Stadium can become one of the biggest in the area."
