Bolton Wanderers visit on Boxing Day with the Millers travelling to Deepdale first in the New Year...

It’s Bolton on Boxing Day for the Millers at AESSEAL New York Stadium.

The Trotters are the visitors in the immediate aftermath of Christmas Day as Neil Lennon brings his side to South Yorkshire.

Last season’s game between the sides at the Millers’ home saw the Millers prevail as 4-2 winners in a six goal thriller.

Millers' boss Steve Evans was pleased to have been dealt a home fixture on one of the marquee days of the season and believes the Christmas schedule has worked out well for his side:

"There’s lots of games over the holiday period like there has been in the past and that’s a good thing. We have to ask players to play fixtures two days apart but we host Bolton locally," he explained.

There’s no action on New Years’ Day but Steve Evans’ men will travel to Deepdale to face Preston North End on Saturday 2nd January 2016.

The Millers’ first action of the New Year will come against Simon Grayson’s men who were promoted to the second tier in the same way as Evans’ side, triumphing in the Play-off Final over Swindon Town last season.

Evans was keen to add that he hopes his side can replicate his side's League One form against the Lilywhites at Deepdale this time out:

"Its not a million miles to Preston and the last couple of times we’ve been there we’ve put in excellent performances and we’ll hope that can continue."
