A profile of the new Millers signing...
Aidy White was a product of the Leeds United Academy, making his professional debut as a 16-year-old in a League Cup tie against Crystal Palace in 2008, going on to make further eight appearances during the 2008/9 season.
He made league appearances as Leeds achieved promotion back to The Championship the following season, whilst he also starred in the shock FA Cup triumph over Manchester United at Old Trafford during the same campaign.
He started Leeds’ first season back in The Championship but he picked up an injury and lost his place in the side resulting in a profitable loan spell with League One side Oldham Athletic where he made 24 appearances.
His real breakthrough season came in 2011/12 where he made 39 appearances in all competitions for Leeds, cementing his place as a first team regular.
In 2012 he scored his first goal for Leeds in a League Cup victory over Everton.
White is an England under 19 international but switched his allegiance to the Republic of Ireland, making appearances for the Irish under 21 side.
During the 2013/14 season he enjoyed a loan spell with Sheffield United where he made eight appearances. Last season was disrupted by injury but he is now fully fit, become Steve Evans’ first close season signing.
