Steve Evans talks to www.themillers.co.uk...
Rotherham United manager Steve Evans has confirmed that he will be fielding another strong squad for the friendly with Stocksbridge Park Steels tomorrow.
The Millers kicked off their pre-season campaign with a 6-0 success over Parkgate on Wednesday night, and travel to Bracken Moor tomorrow with another strong outfit for their second pre-season outing.
“Once again we will be taking a strong squad to Stocksbridge tomorrow,” Evans confirmed to www.themillers.co.uk
“Four or five players are carrying some minor niggles at the moment so they won’t be risked as a precaution.”
Boss Evans also confirmed that Matt Derbyshire is edging closer to a return but will not feature against Steels tomorrow.
“I am pleased to say that Matt Derbyshire has come through a tough training sessiom after suffering a minor hamstring strain, but again we won’t risk him tomorrow. Lewis Buxton is the same, it isn’t worth the risk with him either and they are more likely to make their return either on the Tuesday night against Alfreton or next week at Greenock Morton.”
A reminder that the Grantham friendly originally scheduled for tomorrow has been postponed.
