Barmby becomes first January incoming...

Rotherham United have captured the signing of Leicester City youngster Jack Barmby on loan, subject to Football League ratification.

Jack, 20, becomes Manager Steve Evans’ first foray into the transfer market this month, and trained with his new side this morning. Son of former England international, Nick Barmby, Jack joined Leicester in the summer after progressing through the youth team at Manchester United where he was a teammate of former loanee Tom Lawrence.

As well as being capped at youth level for England from schoolboys through to the Under 19s, Barmby has had a taste of first-team experience with a loan spell at Hartlepool United last season, featuring 17 times in League One, scoring one of his five goals on his debut.

Steve Evans will give full reaction to the signing in his pre-match press conference on Friday morning.
