With Championship football comes some memorable away days for the supporters, and this year some of those trips have become extra special.

At each of Rotherham United’s Championship games on the road, one lucky youngster has had the chance to be a mascot and represent the Millers away from home, leading out the teams at grounds such as the iPro Stadium, Hillsborough and Carrow Road.

The mascot who took to the field for the Millers’ trip to face Cardiff City at the start of December was 10 year-old Hollie Wright, a Junior Miller who had an unforgettable day according to Mum Diane.

“It was a brilliant day for Hollie,” Diane said afterwards. “She got to meet the players, join in with the games on the pitch before the game and then walk out of the tunnel with the players. We told her we were going on a little shopping trip but then on our way to the ground we had to tell her the truth and she didn’t stop smiling until we got home. She loves Rotherham and was over the moon to meet Adam Collin. I’d recommend applying for any of the games that are left because it’s a truly amazing day.”

The packages were made available to anyone who was a current Junior Miller, although the remaining games for this season are currently fully booked.
