Zeki Fryers recently spoke to Millers Matchday...

HOT prospect Zeki Fryers is confident his Millers loan spell will help him kick-start his career after finally getting first-team football with the Millers.

The 22-year-old defender has swapped the glitz and glamour of England's top flight for the Millers Championship adventure but after finding himself on the periphery of the Eagles' side since he joined in September last year, Fryers admitted he had no hesitation in making the move, with the opportunity to play regular first-team football at the forefront of his thinking.

"I want to help Rotherham out and try and impress here and hopefully at Crystal Palace," he explained.

"On a personal level, I want to get games. Throughout my career, I've always been in and out of the team and not played regularly, so I want to do that and get some momentum in my game and I'm delighted to have this opportunity."

Fryers first came to boss Steve Evans’ attention during his time at Manchester United, where he made two first-team appearances during the 2011-2012 season.

Fryers tried his luck on the continent as he joined Standard Liege the following season before returning to these shores with Tottenham Hotspur.

With opportunities limited at White Hart Lane, the former England U16, U17 and U19 international signed a three-year-deal with Palace for an undisclosed fee earlier this season, where again he has been restricted to one substitute and one Capital One appearance during his stint in South London.

"The key thing for me is to get some games under my belt as I've hardly played this season and get confidence and momentum and then take it from there." he added.

"The lads have made me feel very welcome. They are all top lads and it's helped me settle.”
