Rotherham United

For the second year running RUCST ran an Interschool Futsal Tournament for Y11’s in order to raise awareness for our education programme. Our BTEC Futsal scholarship invites both boys and girls to combine a BTEC qualification while playing futsal against fellow Premiership and Football league clubs.

The Interschool Futsal Tournament took place at Wingfield School last week and was attended by 6 secondary schools with over 60 students taking part. Wingfield, Wickersley, Wath, Clifton, Oakwood and Thrybergh all played their part in an enjoyable afternoon of futsal.

“The skill levels on show were of a high standard and played with great sportsmanship” - Andy Warrington, Futsal Coordinator.

Thrybergh were clear winners by winning 4 and drawing the other with Wingfield coming second in the league.

Special thanks to Wingfield School for allowing us to host the tournament and our level 3 futsal students for refereeing and score keeping.
