Rotherham United fan John Stanton has been named the Sky Bet Championship Fan of the Month for January.
John has followed the Millers for over 50 years, and during that time he has seen the club play at all 72 Sky Bet Football League clubs.
It was because of John’s mother that he started following the Millers, with his first game being before he was even born!
John said: “My mother always joked that I didn’t have a choice in becoming a Millers fan as she had already started taking me to games whilst she was pregnant.
“From as long as I can remember I have travelled home and away to see Rotherham play. So much so that I have now visited every Sky Bet Football League club’s ground.
“Receiving the award was completely out of the blue– I am thrilled that my daughter Deborah thought to nominate me.”
Rotherham Assistant Manager Paul Raynor said: "Congratulations to John for deservedly winning this award.
“It was a pleasure for me and Paul Warne to meet John and members of his family and honour him for his unwavering and committed support which is not only appreciated by me but by everyone at the football club.
"The support we receive from fans like John is what keeps the club going, they are the cornerstone to what we have achieved here and we never forget how indebted we are to all of our supporters.”
