Opposition profile - Blackburn Rovers

11 December 2015

A brief overview of the opposition that awaits the Millers at Ewood Park...

Rotherham will be looking to return to winning ways when they travel to face Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park on Friday night.

Paul Lambert, who joined the club in mid-November, has taken seven points from his first three games in charge to lead his side up to 13th.

In fact, Blackburn have lost just one of their last eight as they are looking to make up for a poor start to the season.

Major honours
•    Division One / Premier League: 1912, 1914, 1995
•    FA Cup: 1884, 1885, 1886, 1890, 1891, 1928
•    League Cup: 2002

League position
13th

One to watch - Jordan Rhodes
Scotland international Jordan Rhodes has been the subject of interest from a whole host of sides over the past few transfer windows as he continues to rattle in goals in the Championship.

Middlesbrough tabled a £14m bid in the summer for the striker, who has averaged 25 goals in each of the last three campaigns.

The forward’s predatory instincts have caused nightmares for Championship defences in recent seasons and he has already notched nine goals in the current campaign.

Previous encounters
Both encounters last season went the way of the home side. Blackburn won the clash at Ewood Park 2-1, while first-half goals from Kari Arnason and Luciano Becchio handed the Millers all three points on home soil in September 2014.

Likely Lineup
Steele; Henley, Hanley, Duffy, Olsson; Marshall, Evans, Akpan, Conway; Lawrence, Rhodes
