Millers back Sapper Support...
The Millers are uniting with Sapper Support to raise awareness of their helpline that offers support and advice to servicemen suffering with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. The organisation, set up by Tim Evers of the Royal Engineers Association, provides a round the clock helpline which was initially designed to help Sappers, however, the volume of calls received and the different number of cap badges meant that they have had to quickly adapt.
Tim also has the backing of a dedicated team of volunteers, many of whom are former servicemen themselves and can relate to the issues raised by their callers.
“Our volunteers are not doctors, councillors or health professionals. They are sappers who speak the lingo of the British squaddie, have served in all the theatres of war from Iraq’s Desert Storm to modern day Afghanistan,” Tim writes on www.sappersupport.com
Members of the Millers squad rallied together at the training ground to promote the helpline with Lewis Buxton, Paul Warne, Lee Frecklington and Joe Newell joining Tim with the Sapper Support banner at the club’s training ground.
If you know anyone that may benefit from 24-hour-a-day advice this service is available from Sapper Support at the following number 0800-040-PTSD.
