The Millers make Christmas visits...

Rotherham United’s first team squad and Academy were out in the community yesterday visiting fans ahead of Christmas in Rotherham Hospital, Rotherham Hospice and Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.

In conjunction with the Rotherham United Community Sports Trust, the Millers handed out gifts, had photos taken and signed autographs with fans and staff alike, whilst also further showing the club’s commitment to the fantastic work done both at the local hospital and the hospices.

Rotherham United’s Danny Collins commented on behalf of the first-team and Academy, saying that the squad were ‘honoured and humbled’ to have been invited to the local hospital and hospices.

“I would like to say how honoured and humbled the squad were to meet supporters at Rotherham General Hospital, Rotherham Hospice and Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.

“The football club is at the core of the local community and it is important, especially at this time of year, that we all come together to support the people of the Borough.

“At both the hospital and the hospices the lads spoke to some very brave individuals and their families, and handed out gifts and signed autographs.

“We also spoke with the nurses who do such an amazing job, it really puts things into perspective how lucky we are.

“We hope that our presence has spread some festive cheer at this time of year and put one or two smiles on faces.”
