Health Champion volunteer opportunity

Volunteer role description

Rotherham United Community Sports Trust (RUCST) are looking for health volunteers!

RUCST is a community development programme that works across the borough of Rotherham in deprived areas with different communities and age groups, delivering under the three main themes of the Football League Trust of Education, Health & Wellbeing and Sport & Community Development.

After full training health champions will be going out into different community settings to talk to others about healthy life styles. Volunteers will undertake a 10 week training programme – 1 hour per week learning all different aspects of healthy lifestyles. These will include;

•    Heart start training
•    Nutrition
•    Mental health awareness
•    Smoking, alcohol and drugs

Volunteers will then be health champions helping RUCST inform the people of Rotherham about healthy lifestyles and healthy choices.

Volunteers will gain experience in working with others and independently. Volunteer will be equipped with new knowledge and get to meet new people – they will also get the chance of progression to do more in depth health training.

Volunteering looks great on your CV, you will get free health training and meet people throughout your community.
