Investing in Youth...

Rotherham United's Youth department has provided the first team with a number of first team players in recent years and the 2015/16 season saw five youngsters offered professional terms, with previous graduates Jerry Yates and Mason Warren extending their deals with the club.

“Rotherham United have a rich history in producing young talent who go on to have a career in professional football,” said Academy Manager Garreth Barker.

"2015/16 was an incredibly productive year in Rotherham United’s Academy which has seen us produce no fewer than five players who have been offered professional contracts.

"This progression was further enhanced by one of those youngsters, Darnelle Bailey-King, being handed his first team debut on the final day of the 2015/16 season at Hull City.

"In addition to that, Jerry Yates and Mason Warren who are also products of the Academy system, have signed extensions to their professional deals and this is a fantastic endorsement of all the work that the Academy have done in developing players for the football club.
