On Wednesday October 1st 2014, Rotherham Untied Community Sports Trust was excited to launch the Sport For All project in partnership with Headway Rotherham. The project is funded by Sport England’s Inclusive Sport Fund with the aim to increase the number of disabled young people (aged 14+) and adults regularly playing sport.
Approximately 20 people, all of which had suffered from a brain injury attended the launch, which was held at the New York Stadium. The attendees enjoyed a tour of the stadium followed by a few games of boccia and new age kurling. Future plans for the project involves weekly boccia and kurling sessions at the stadium with the hope to establish a Rotherham United Boccia Club.
