On Monday 13th October, 2014 the Rotherham United Community Sports Trust first ‘Foot Golf 4 All’ mental health tournament that was schedule to be held at the High Melton Foot Golf Centre of Excellence was cancelled due to the unfortunate weather conditions. However, we are hoping to launch this event next year when the weather picks up.
In replacement of this event, a mini inclusion football tournament was held at the Rotherham Indoor Football Centre with teams and players from Rotherham Early Intervention in Psychosis, Barnsley Community Mental Health Team, Community Links in Dewsbury, Lighthouse Project in Rotherham and Rotherham Assertive Outreach Team.
At the end of the tournament the Oakwell Terriers, a mental health team from Barnsley was announced as the winner.
RUCST also delivers a weekly football session for adults with mental issues at Rotherham Indoor Football Centre every Tuesday 2pm – 3pm.
