£7K Funding From Sports England

Rotherham United Community Sports Trust has received £7K funding towards a futsal project.

The project aims to raise the profile of futsal in the local area, recruit for the 2015 futsal scholarship programme, purchase new equipment and hire staff such as referees and coaches. Also, the project will enable us to work closely with secondary schools by providing training to 14-16 year olds and the potential of establishing a school futsal tournament at the end of the academic year.

Andy Warrington said, “The funding that we have received from Sport England will help enhance the opportunity from local teenagers both boys and girls to take part in the popular team game of futsal, to develop technical skills and engage in competitive sport and physical exercise.”
