Steve Evans post Blackpool...

Rotherham United manager Steve Evans was disappointed at the mistakes that led to Blackpool’s equaliser in the 1-1 draw at The AESSEAL New York Stadium.

Jordan Bowery struck after coming on as a second-half substitute to put the home side ahead, but a slip at the back from Craig Morgan and Adam Collin allowed Blackpool striker Steve Davies to nip in and level the tie.

If you made those big errors, it happens,” Evans said at full time. “It’s just a big punt down the middle, our captain slips and then Adam Collin misses a ball that usually a 10 year old would clear. He doesn’t and we go home disappointed. We’re hurting after that. I think the first 25 minutes we blew them away and it was some of the most exciting passing football I’ve seen us play. We just couldn’t get the goal, but I feel if we had got one we’d have laid them to bed.”

The Gaffer made seven changes from the side that were beaten by Birmingham City at the AESSEAL New York Stadium last week, but was pleased with how his side reacted, especially the three players who joined on the emergency loan deadline.

There were no tough calls, only Frazer Richardson’s fitness that was in question. The rest were straight forward because last week was unacceptable. I was delighted with those young kids today, I think they were terrific in spells and we look forward to working and going forward to Cardiff next week.
